Our Mission
Quality Care
We strongly believe every child should feel undeniably loved every day of their life. We also believe parents deserve peace of mind that their child is receiving the best care possible. As a Paths to Quality ™ Level 3 program, we have been recognized by the State of Indiana for our commitment to health, safety, and quality of care.
Intentional Education
We believe caregivers should be intentional in helping a child develop physically, mentally, and emotionally at every age. All of our classrooms utilize the play-based Frog Street curriculum, which helps children learn while they are growing, playing, and having fun.
Faith Focused
In Matthew 19 Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” We believe that God has been leading this community from the start. If a vacated elementary school can have a resurrection, there is undeniably resurrection power available to those who put their trust in Jesus. We firmly believe in nurturing faith in Jesus in each and every child we serve.
How We Work
Why Choose LLC?
LLC is a Paths to Quality™ Level 3 which means our program demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary for planning appropriate activities and opportunities that lead children toward school readiness. Level 3 also shows a significant investment in the professional development of the staff, and they incorporate family and staff input into the program. We are also an On My Way Pre-K™ provider! Our staff is highly qualified - with over half obtaining a CDA or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Most importantly, our staff treats every child with love and compassion each and every day. Most of our caregivers have been with LLC for 2+ years, enabling them to create impacting relationships with families and children.
Do LLC staff receive training?
Yes! All staff members receive a minimum of 18 hours of on-boarding training when joining our team. They must also complete a minimum of 15 hours of professional development training each year. Additionally, all staff members are trained in CPR, First Aid and Universal Precautions.
Does LLC provide food?
We provide a nutritious morning and afternoon snack and ask that you provide a lunch for your child. All food must follow our Nut-Free policy. Yes! We are a Nut-Free Facility!
Does LLC provide tranportation?
No, we do not. However, there is a bus stop for Southwood Elementary that is right at our front door. This is great for families needing before and afterschool care for older kiddos!
Does LLC use a Curriculum?
Yes! We use an Early Childhood Curriculum called Frog Street! We always keep Jesus in the center of it all through weekly Bible story lessons.
Can I bring a blanket or "sleep sack" for my child?
Sleeping environment specifics are regulated at a state level and are age-dependent. Children under 12 months (1 year) old must sleep alone, on their back, in a crib with a tight fitting sheet. They may only have a pacifier (nothing attached) in the crib with them. Children under 1 year may use a "sleep sack" but their arms must be free and the "sleep sack" must not be weighted.
Children over 1 year and 1 day are allowed to have a small blanket, small pillow, and small stuffed animal with them for nap time. We ask that all of these fit into their "nap cubby".
FAQs
Explore Our Spaces
As a former elementary school, our building was designed for young children! Families often remark on how much larger our spaces are than other childcare centers. Children ages one and up play often in the large indoor common area or playground, offering time outside the classroom for large motor skill development year-round.
