About The Elementary
The Back Story
In 2014, LaFontaine Elementary officially closed its doors as an elementary school, but no one in our community wanted to see this beloved staple go to waste. In 2016, the building was purchased by a private owner and reopened to the community over the next few years—this time as a rental venue.
Â
Expanding to Childcare
Seeing a great need for early childhood education in the community, the classrooms in the front portion of the building were transformed into a childcare facility in 2019, now known as LaFontaine Learning Community. Only four years after opening its doors, LLC earned the esteemed Paths To Quality Level 3 rating by the state.

How It Works Today
On weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, the facility functions as a childcare ministry, and entry into the building is only permitted to approved guardians, childcare staff, and enrolled children. The facility is available to rent on weekdays after 5:30 pm and all day on weekends. We host everything from birthday parties to baby showers to vendor fairs and more.Â
